Language is used by people to describe feelings and thoughts. It is a way to transmit ideas, wishes with the help of specific symbol order. It can be called a body created to make thoughts. Thou mental activity, very deep, "filled with spirit", but which doesn't leave any trace except the feelings and thoughts can be materialized with the help of language and becomes accesible for perception for other persones. Thus mental activit and language and a concept are therefore inseparable entity. Language can be described as a external manifestation of people's spirit. It is a continuos mind activity which tries to turn a sound into thoughts.

As it can be easily defined, it is possible to give thousands of definitions to the language. For example, language - is a special kind of system, a semiotic system. Sign - is a psychological phenomenon, because its meaning is the acoustic image and the signified - the concept.

The sign can appear in the system in 4 aspects:

In sigmatics (the link of sign with the subject)
In syntax (the between link signs)
In semantics (interpretation of signs and combinations of signs, as means of expression)
As a pragmatic aspect (interraction between signs and people who use them)

Sign is a material unit, which replaces anohter entity and express information about it. A sign can have two functions: to be the mean of replacement and to have informative content.
